In honor of National Family Caregivers Month, November's AMA theme was "Family Dynamics." The following was taken from the Presidential Proclamation:
Across our country, more than 60 million Americans take up the selfless and unheralded work of delivering care to seniors or people with disabilities or illnesses. The role they play in our healthcare system is one we must recognize and support. During National Family Caregivers Month, we thank these tireless heroes for the long, challenging work they perform behind closed doors and without fanfare every day, and we recommit to ensuring the well-being of their loved ones and of the caregivers themselves.
Nominated by a fellow caregiver, Georgina has provided faithful service to her many clients since she started at AngelCare in 2011. The care she provides offers the family members of her clients much-needed respite. AngelCare would like to thank Georgina--and all family caregivers--for the work they do.
Great news for Spanish-speaking seniors in Grand Rapids: The National Instintute on Aging now features a number of publications in both English and Spanish. Check out the NIA website for information and resources:
This October, our AMA theme was "Motivation - Dealing with Difficult Situations." Our caregivers are faced with difficult situations everyday, both on the job and off. At AngelCare, we take pride in the way we handle life's road bumps. This month's honored caregiver, Kristina R., consistently tackles the problems she encounters with poise. As lead caregiver on her client's case, Kristina has picked-up multiple last minute shifts and worked with her client to fulfill a care plan designed to fit her needs. Thanks for all your efforts, Kristina!
